The artisanal took more than a week to complete the 1950 Dubrovnik Bobby Fischer Reproduced Chess Set version 3.0. This chess set is a stunning masterpiece that captivates its exquisite beauty.
Features: Dubrovnik Bobby Fischer Reproduced Chess Set version 3.0 is crafted with astonishing precision where the king proudly stand 3.7" tall with base of 1.5". Each chess pieces is double weighted and has a thick green felt on their bases. The dark chess pieces are made in Burnt Boxwood and the lighter chess pieces are made in Natural Boxwood.
1950 Dubrovnik Bobby Fischer Reproduced Chess Set vesion 3.0: Commissioned for the IX. Chess Olympiad in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia, the Serbian sculptor Petar Poček crafted an exquisite set of chess pieces in 1950, featuring smooth curves, distinctive capped bishops, and elegantly unique knights unlike the conventional Staunton Elgin marbles style. These chess pieces was constructed from maple and chestnut in their natural hues which exhibited an unconventional width at the base, while adhering to the tradition of great Staunton/Jaques of London designs. Notably, the requirement for no religious symbols was strictly upheld, and a discreet metal badge within the box bore the inscription "IX. šah olimpijada 1950 Dubrovnik Jugoslavija."in the 1960s, Croat cartoonist Andrija Maurović redesigned the Dubrovnik chess set with simpler knights and queens, often seen with Bobby Fischer, but his set was later stolen. so, getting an original set is almost impossible we have bought a precise reproduction of the original Dubrovnik.Limited quantities, an approximately 50 chess sets originally produced are now exceptionally scarce and command a high price among collectors. However, Chessbazaar has introduced a reproduction of the 1950 Dubrovnik chess set, offering this exquisite creation to chess enthusiasts at highly affordable prices, meticulously maintaining the accurate design's to the original while incorporating weighted pieces to compensate for its initial shortcomings, making it a must-have addition for any dedicated collector.

Note: Original Dubrovnik chess pieces are non-weighted. Commercially available 1970 chess set (used by Bobby Fischer) design is slightly changed from the actual 1950 Dubrovnik but the difference is not hugely noticeable. The actual 1950 Dubrovnik Olympiad chess set was never sold in any store.
