Introducing the New 4.25" Repro 1950 Dubrovnik Bobby Fischer Weighted Chess Pieces Set, crafted in Ebony Wood and Distressed Antique Wood. Chessbazaar is the first to offer this iconic set with a 4.25" king height, continuing our legacy as the first to introduce the Dubrovnik reproduction in 2013. Known for its distinctive knight design and slightly ornate pieces, the Dubrovnik set gained fame after being used in the 1950 Chess Olympiad in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. The set features intricately carved, high-quality pieces with a satisfying weight, enhanced by contrasting light and dark tones. Commissioned by the Yugoslav government, the original set was crafted by Serbian sculptor Petar Poček and is highly sought after by collectors. With only about 50 original sets produced, Chessbazaar’s reproduction stays true to the original design, incorporating weighted pieces for improved playability, making it a must-have for any serious chess collector.
