The set features a Tournament standard 3.75" King with a base diameter of 1.61 inches. The CB Grandmaster Series is expertly weighted from our master artisans and it's superb size proportioning from a king to pawn make this chess set an excellent choice for fast chess games in tournaments/clubs or regular home and school play.

Chess Pieces Weight: 1120 grams approx. (39.50 oz). Please note that the weight in the set is added manually so the final weight of the set can vary by plus or minus (±) 10%.

Dark chess pieces are made up of ebonized boxwood / sheesham wood and the opposing pieces are made up of natural boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and appropriately weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board. King, Queens, Bishops, and Pawns have unique collar rings and thick green felts, which precisely envelops the base for smooth contact and movement on the chess board. The knights are well-crafted and represent the highest grade of knight carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer.

Craftsmanship: Pieces are meticulously handcrafted from the finest grade wood and polished by hand to give it a rich and long lasting shine. The design, quality, and craftsmanship of these chess pieces is impeccable.

Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.

About Chess Board: The board is made of sheesham wood ( Dalbergia sissoo ) and box wood on the lighter side. The underside of the board is felted with green velvet. The size of the board is 19 x 19 Inches (48 x 48 cm) with square size of 2" x 2" Inches (50 x 50 mm). The board is 22 mm thick.
