This peerless 2016 Bridle series chess set is made up of ebony wood and boxwood. The King proudly stands at 4.2 inches and its base is robust 1.9 inches. This is a classic design featuring the magnificent and strong bridle knight. Superb size proportioning from king to the pawn exhibits true intricate craftsmanship in all the pieces. The dark chess pieces are made of ebony wood. It would be difficult to find a more sumptuous wood than ebony wood for the dark side chess pieces. The texture of the ebony wood is fine and a true pleasure to hold. The deep luster and total blackness of the ebony wood are exceptional.

The opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail.
