The box has been lined with green velvet to protect the pieces from scratching. The outer dimensions of the box are 11" (27.94 cm) x 7" (17.78 cm) x 4" (10.16 cm). The sale is for an empty storage box only and the chess pieces are NOT INCLUDED in the sale. There are two compartments in the box to keep two sides of the set. There is a provision to put 17 pieces in either compartment.
