Four years ago, we launched our first reproduction of the 1849 Staunton Pattern Chess Set, which quickly became a gold standard among collectors. Since then, chessbazaar has expanded to over 120+ reproduced antique chess sets.

Now, we present the Reproduced 1849 Staunton Chess Set in ivory white & painted crimson. Handcrafted from boxwood, polished with high-gloss lacquer, and heavily weighted (1750g ±10%), this set offers a premium playing experience. The King stands at 4.3" with a 1.7" base, and the set includes extra queens. The knights showcase elite carving skills, while thick green felts ensure smooth movement.

The King-side stamping adds authenticity, and the metal-guided profiles ensure uniformity in turned pieces. This masterpiece is crafted in India by skilled artisans, staying true to the original Staunton design while remaining affordable.
