This chess set will be of high quality like any other of our chess sets, but it is imperfect/second quality in the sense that some chess pieces color, carving & size are slightly different from other and they may or may not include minor blemishes.

Note: There are no returns, replacements(apart from the in-transit damage), exchange, etc for this product. This product doesn't cover under our lifetime warranty*.

Craftsmanship: The lathe work on each chess piece is noteworthy, especially the elegant curves. There are 6 cuts in the turrets of the rook. The carving and the design of the knight are quite spectacular, look closely at the eyes, nostrils, teeth and, craftsmanship around the mane. The design of the other pieces is also highly outstanding, each chessmen is carefully handcrafted in India. They are meticulously handcrafted from the finest grade bud rosewood and polished by hand to give it a rich and long-lasting shine. Superb size proportioning from king to the pawn exhibits true intricate craftsmanship in all the pieces. The design, quality, and craftsmanship of these chess pieces are comparable to the luxury chess sets that are sold for $900+ by other retailers.

Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.
