This contemporary chess set features chessmen that are crafted with a combination of genuine ebony wood and boxwood. The texture of the ebony wood is fine and a true pleasure to hold. The deep luster and total blackness of the ebony wood is exceptional. The opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is mostly used for white side. The king proudly stands at 3 inches and its base is a robust 1.3 inches. The set comes with free extra queens for easy pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very satisfying thud on the chess board. Each of chess piece has thick leather base pad for smooth movement on the chess board. The knights are superlative and show the astounding skills of our best knight artisans.
