The set features a Tournament standard 3.75" King with a base diameter of 1.65 inches. The GM Blitz Edition is expertly weighted from our master artisans and it's superb size proportioning from a king to pawn make this chess set an excellent choice for the blitz play in chess tournaments/clubs or regular home and school play.

Weight: 1200 grams approx. (42.32 oz). Please note that the weight in the set is added manually so the final weight of the set can vary by plus or minus (±) 10%.

Dark chess pieces are exquisitely crafted in bud rosewood. Because of its rarity, bud rosewood chess pieces are the primary choice of many chess enthusiasts. The opposing pieces are made up of boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and appropriately weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board. King, Queens, Bishops and Pawns have unique collar rings and thick green felts, which precisely envelops the base for smooth contact and movement on the chess board. The knights are well-crafted and represent the highest grade of knight carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer.

Craftsmanship: What makes this chess set so unique is its knight as it is made from a single piece of wood, there are no joins. The carving of the knight is quite spectacular. To achieve this extraordinary level of detail and finish, our master artisans take a whole day to carve a single chess set. Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.
