American Adios chess pieces are made in bud rosewood and boxwood. The king is 4.4" high. The chess set comes with 34 pieces including 2 extra queens. This set is Triple Weighted and the chess pieces have thick green felt on their bases.

Why American Adios Series?

The knight in this chess set has been dedicated to racing horse Adios, who was multiple world champion during his racing career. Born in 1940, Adios is the most well known horse in the history of harness racing. Apart from the races won, Adios was more famous for siring champion harness racing horses. His pedigree won Eight Little Brown Jugs and Two Triple Crowns of Harness Racing for Pacers. A race, a golf club, a course and a book, Adios: The Big Daddy of Harness Racing were name after this world famous horse.

Luxury, Splendid and Islamic-Indian Style of Art

Luxury with a moderate price among luxury chess. The sculptures of horses are vivid, horrified war-horses roaring with blood on skin! \n\nThe heads of the kings have a shape of a mosque, i.e., an onion dome, while the finials are Indian palm leaves. For people from a non-Christian culture, this is an amazing and novel Stauton-like chess set. \n\nThe international shipment is very fast by air. Each piece is protected separately by foam, so they won't clash each other.

Perfect set!\nThe most beautiful pieces at all.\nHard to make with that many saliences and rings. Precise work!\nColours with lacquer are darker. Bud rosewood is almost dark brown, but when you look on pieces more closely in better light and in different angles, nice rich dark red colours will appear. Boxwood is as good as it can be.\nPerfect set in any detail, absolutely match with bud rosewood chessboard 55-60 mm squares.\nFrom my pose with best set ever!\n\nThank to all workers in Chess Bazaar!

Really like the American Adios Series Luxury Chess Set

This is the sixth (6th) set of chess pieces I have purchased from Chess Bazaar to date. These are very nice chess pieces. I really like the American Adios Series Luxury Chess Set in Bud Rose / Box Wood - 4.4"" King . Very stylish, indeed. The Bud Rose Wood pieces are rich in both color and style and each piece is nice and beautiful. The Knights are well designed. The Rooks and Bishops are beautiful and the Pawns are also nice n weight and balance. The King and Queens are also very attractive. I am again impressed with the quality of these chess pieces.\n\nAs always, the service and sales team were outstanding. Chess Bazaar is very good about making good on their promises to provide the best service possible. It does not matter if an issue arises with a damaged piece (two Rooks were broken when the package arrived in my home), or a shipping issue or a customs issue. Chess Bazaar is always there willing and eager to help. I plan on buying at least one more 60mm square board and another luxury set from Chess Bazaar soon. Keep those great promotions and deals coming! Thanks!\n\nI do think Chess Bazaar could be even better if they improved the pre-shipping quality control. In this shipment, the pieces were covered in styrofoam, but that packing technique was not good enough to prevent the tops of the elegant Rooks from breaking as they moved about in transit. It's not correct to place the blame on ""improper handling"" during transit, as it was easy to see in this shipment that the pieces were too loosely packed to avoid damage in transit. If there is anything about Chess Bazaar which is causing me concern it is the high percentage of damaged good from problems related to packing and shipping. On the other hand, CB is quick to replace the broken pieces; but the packing service could be better.\n\nPlease try to improve this part of your service.\n\nAgain, thank you Chess Bazaar!\n

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
