Detailed Description

Leatherette Storage Box Brown Leatherette storage box for chess pieces with double tray and fixed slots for putting each piece separately. This box is best suited for pieces with height 3.75" - 4.0". Comes with the suitcase-style handle to carry and is also fitted with a lock for safe upkeep. The box has been lined with beige velvet to protect the pieces from scratching. The outer dimensions of the box are 12.20" (31 cm) x 12.99" (33 cm) x 4.5" (11.5 cm). The sale is for an empty storage box only and the chess pieces are NOT INCLUDED in the sale. There are two trays in the box to keep two sides of the set. The upper tray can be pulled out as it comes with little leatherette handles on either side. The lower tray is fixed inside the box. There is provision to put 17 pieces in either tray as most of the high-end sets come with extra queens. Weight of the storage box is 2650 grams (93.47 oz).

Thank you for my order which I received today - less than a week since I placed it; superb, speedy service ….. thank you.

I was very impressed with the secure way in which my box was packed and it arrived completely undamaged.

It is a very robust box and I’m confident it will protect my pieces completely for many years to come. The lining material is nice and soft and I was very pleased to discover that under the lining is some sort of padding which gives even more security to each piece. The compartments are almost perfectly sized for my set; the bishop is a snug fit into its slot due to its neck band and the head of the knight fits its slot very well. There is about 0.5 cm between the base of the knight and the base of its compartment but that is perfectly acceptable.

I am very, very pleased with the box and would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to have superb all-round protection for their chess pieces.

It was worth the price! Presentation of the pieces is second to non. Craftsmanship was on point. Reviews of these boxes sometimes state a Gasoline Smell; however, Mine had only a new-vinyl odor that i'm sure will off-gas quickly, nothing objectionable. I was expecting the smell to be very potent. The handle is very sturdy and it came with packing foam which I decided to keep inside; I don't think the pieces will flop out of their spaces without the foam, but using the foam does keep them nested completely. I highly recommend this Coffer.

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
