We are pleased to announce the CB Mustang Series heirloom quality Staunton chess set exquisitely made from ebony and natural boxwood. The King comes with two beauteous king finials(each side) & proudly stands at 4.4 inches and its base is robust 1.9 inches. Changing the king finials is a quick and easy job. This is a luxury design featuring the magnificently robust and solitary knight.
Weight: 5550 garam (194.00 OZ ). Please note that the weight in the set is added manually so the final weight of the set can vary by plus or minus (±) 10%.

Note: No glue work is required to swap the king finials.

The dark chess pieces are made of ebony wood. It would be difficult to find a more sumptuous wood than ebony wood for the dark side chess pieces. The texture of the ebony wood is fine and a true pleasure to hold. The deep luster and total blackness of the ebony wood are exceptional.

The opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board. King, Queens, Bishops, and Pawns have unique rings and thick green felts, which precisely envelops the base of each chessmen for smooth movement on the chess board. The lathe work on the each chess piece is noteworthy, especially the unique collar rings and elegant curves.

Double is better than one: The set comes with Double Rook(first in it's class) which is well-crafted and represents the highest grade of carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer. For a fine uniform finish, we've shielded the pieces with buff-polish instead of lacquer finish. This also ensures the surface is hardy and resistant to scratches & dirt. Wavy mane for a delicate feel: The knights are precision-crafted. We designed and focus tested over 30 variations before finalizing the mane of the knight, it perfectly matches the design. Such crafting process requires prior analysis on the wood material before it is sent for processing.

Design Inspiration: The knight of the set is inspired by the Mustang horse. Mustang horses are known for their Strong and Sturdy legs, great intelligence and some of them have a very great feathering or hair growth. The wavy & flowing mane of the knight represents the Mustang in full gallop.

Craftsmanship: Did you notice? All chess pieces have handmade vertical lines at the bottom of the shank, for an elegant look. The carving and the design of the knight are quite spectacular, look closely at the eyes, nostrils, teeth and, craftsmanship around the wavy mane. The design of the other pieces is also highly outstanding that allows the set to truly stand out. They are meticulously handcrafted from the finest grade ebonywood and polished by hand to give it a rich and long-lasting shine. Each chessmen is carefully handcrafted in India and takes some influences from the Indian Chetak Series. Superb size proportioning from king to the pawn exhibits true intricate craftsmanship in all the pieces. The design, quality, and craftsmanship of these chess pieces are comparable to the luxury chess sets that are sold for $1500+ by other retailers. Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.

Before it gets shipped, we polish the chess pieces with a special coating that enhances the reflection and lets you easily wipe off smudges.

How are items packaged?

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
