This artistic chess set is handcrafted with precision and care in genuine ebony wood and antiqued boxwood. The King proudly stands at 4" tall with a base diameter of 1.8 inches. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. Pieces have unique rings and thick green felts, which precisely envelops the base of each chessmen for smooth movement on the chess board. The well-reproduced knights represent the highest grade of knight carving skills that our Indian artisans have to offer. The ebony wood is fine and a true pleasure to hold. The deep luster and total blackness of the ebony wood are exceptional. The opposing pieces are made of antiqued boxwood. Boxwood is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off aesthetic detail.
Craftsmanship: Each piece is meticulously hand carved from the finest grade wood. The set is entirely handmade in India and heavily weighted for prodigious hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board. All chess pieces have a wide base which adds another interesting dimension to the set. Each chessmen is carefully handcrafted with dainty details.
