Detailed Description

Leatherette Storage Box Briefcase styled leatherette storage box for chess pieces with fixed slots for putting each piece separately. This box is best suited for pieces with height 3.75" - 4". Comes with suitcase style handle to carry. The box has been lined with beige velvet to protect the pieces from scratching. The outer dimensions of the box are 22" / (56 cm) x 12" / (30.5 cm) x 3.1" / (8 cm). The sale is for an empty storage box only and the chess pieces are NOT INCLUDED in the sale. There is provision to put 17 pieces each side as most of the high end sets come with extra queens. Weight of the storage box is 2250 grams (79.36 oz).

Practical carrying case

I just received this case in excellent condition. The strap holding the lid was slightly short when opened, but the lid stayed open. Very attractive case to protect and carry your pieces.

Practical carrying case

The brown leatherette version of this musician style case that matches the brown chess pieces of 3.75"" to 4.0"" King size. For those who prefer this longer briefcase style to the suitcase-type boxes with a lift-out tray. It was well made and functional. I cut a block of styrofoam from the packing materials to fit into the upper lid, else the pieces, especially pawns, tend to slip out of their slots. Perhaps a more attractive flexible foam pad with cloth surface could be included to hold the pieces in place. I liked someone's suggestion to fold a vinyl board and put over the pieces. I have not tried it yet. Perhaps a thicker mousepad type board would work. Else a thick layer of towels can be placed over the pieces. There is a lot of free space in the top of the case in which the pieces can slip out while the case is being carried by the handle. That is the only shortcoming I see, other than these cases do not lock like the other style, if that is important to anyone.

Great carrying Briefcase

I bought this briefcase style box to carry my 1950 Dubrovnik set in. I also carry a mouse pad roll up board which when folded in half perfectly fits in the case and ensures the pieces don't move. Very fast delivery too from India to Alberta, Canada in 5 days.

How are items packaged?

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
