Features: Reproduced Antique Series weighted chess pieces offers a 4.1" King with a diameter of 1.4" and all chess pieces are Weighted by adding a stud of iron within the base. Each of the chess pieces have thick green felt on their bases. The dark chess pieces are made of Ebonized Boxwood and the lighter chess pieces are made of Antiqued Boxwood.

formidable fun

These wonderfully designed chess pieces make me happy for five days by only looking at them. All pieces are special and ooze Irishness. Rooks are sturdily crenelated and comfy underneath; knights are so cute strutting about on their pedestal. Beware of the humongous pawns! Everything is flawlessly finished. Only to be played with against FRIENDS. Pour a pint and put on The Pogues. Thanks, CB!

FROM THE DISTANT PAST

This is not one of your typical chess sets. It carries a unique and pungent flavor of an Irish pub soaked in pipe tobacco and fermented in long hours of playing time. Absolutely one of a kind and a great addition to my cherished collection. If you want something different that will stand out, try this amazing set.

I am interested in some sets that are a bit different from the standard Staunton sets we see so often and this one hits it out of the park! unique and beautifully crafted....

Very nice set for the money

The rooks, bishops, and knights are especially nifty. Also, the felt bottoms are nice. The finish on the black pieces is a little bit irregular in places -- but hardly noticeable except by very close inspection. The coloring of the light-colored pieces is, in my opinion, a bit too much in the yellowish direction -- but, again, nonetheless quite acceptable. \n \n All in all, I am very pleased with this set. I am glad to have it as part of my collection of nice chess sets. \n\n The set was wrapped superbly well for shipping. One must take great care in the unwrapping so as to not damage any of the pieces in the process. A sharp knife and small scissors are needed tools for that purpose. \n\n The seller is honest and eager to keep his customers. He ships promptly. I have bought other sets from him in the past, and have always been quite satisfied with the transactions. He is clearly an ethical and professional businessman who wants loyal customers. I am one of them.

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
