Thanks
Chess pieces

I'm very pleased with the product I've purchased. The aesthetics of the pieces enhanced by a Ebony/Tiger wood board. I now have a delightful library Set. Chess anyone??

Great set for vertical chessboards

I bought the set to go with a wall-mounted chess board my wife got me for Christmas. I needed a set that was short enough to fit and with dark pieces that were a color that contrasted with the dark wood of the squares. The crimson staining was just the thing and you can still see the graining of the boxwood. The knights and and the rooks of this set are especially nice. And while I hesitate to use ""cute"" for a chess set, this set is undeniably cute.

Amazing and Unique Set!

This reproduction of the German Knubbel set, which was Bent Larsen's favorite analysis set, is a uniquely attractive smaller set with wide bases, making the pieces very stable. They are nicely weighted for their size. I'm not quite sure what the original designer had in mind when giving the knights what appears to be a double set of ears, but they are quite unique and attractive, as are the other pieces.

Superb

What an amazing, stand out quality set - for both analysis and serious games.

special and practical

These are wonderful chess pieces. Since last December they are the pieces I use for analysis and games when I have friends over. They are small, but their broad base makes them a perfect fit for my 50mm squares board (the outside of my Greek tavli chest in which I also keep them when not in use). I like the idea that it was Larsen's favorite analysis set (and feel only a little uneasy with the thought that he might have prepared his match against Fischer with it).\nThe pieces are very, very well made. The finish is superb, but what I like especially is the playing with them. The slight weighting is just right in combination with the broad base of all the pieces, which also defines their character and charm. Well done CB!

Awesome

A really nice set. Easy to grip all individual pieces. Love the Crimson red stain, so much better than lacquer. Well worth the price.

Tiny Historic German Set, Super-Cute

The measurements given on the CB homepage are correct, but you won't realize how tiny this successful replica of a 1930s German set truly is until you seem the pieces in the flesh (or, in the wood?). They're very tiny indeed. When it says the ""black"" pieces are crimson color, you better believe it. Crimson is the right word. But the set is very well made and with their bulbous design they stand firmly on the board. Only lightly weighted though. As for the perfect analysis set, I really don't know. They'd rather fit into someone's seed box next to a set of vintage Smurfs. For the price I paid, can't complain.

Wonderful, of great taste

Wonderful, of great taste\nI bought many chess sets from ChessBazaar, I am very, very passionate, and do very nice things.\nThey do things of incredible beauty and good taste, highly sought after! And the price is very good.\nEvery time I order something, a curious thing happens: every time I open the package I am surprised that the product is MUCH more beautiful live than in the picture!\nCongratulations on the tasteful design, always.\nSimone

CB did chess players a service with this set.

While it has historical interest, this set also manages to be the perfect desktop analysis set. The world is filled with well-crafted sets 3.5 inches and above, but finding a small set that's pleasing in appearance, is stable and plays well has always been a problem. CB not only did a great job on these pieces - really - but also did chess players a real service.

Superb German Knubbel Reproducion, Great set for analysis

Normally I'm not a collector of smaller size sets, but I was so impressed with the beauty of this reproduction I decided to order it. Its a great set for analysis. Kings measure 3"" in height. Surprisingly, the pieces are nicely weighted and have a hefty feel. I chose the lacquered version, its also offered in a buff finish. The crimson stain pieces are gorgeous. Many thanks to Gurpreet Singh Khokhar and Chess Praxis for their efforts in making this set available to collectors and chess players.

Best chess pieces for collection & value for money

Bent Larsen favorite 1930 Knubbel Set is now available for collectors in mind. This is Chess Bazaar one of his finest reproduction from mine original copy using 3D imaging effect to produce this 3"" set. As I strongly felt that 3"" is the right proportion to play with for analytical purposes. The reproduction was beyond my imagination when I received the set. Each and every single piece that form the set was crafted and turned finely and finish with care during the production process. In addition, we spend almost 2 weeks in perfecting the pieces to ensure that it will turn out successfully to every one delight. Hope you all enjoy the set and wishing you happy ownership of the Kunbbel.
