This is one of the most beautiful chess designs offered. It is best to get the red bud rosewood pieces lacquered to avoid possible oxidation problems. This will make the pieces look glossy and luxurious. Then the Spanish glossy board in red burl or a red bud rosewood board in 60mm size (2.36"" squares) should be a perfect match for these pieces.

I now have to pursue a board of equal quality and finesse to justify these chess pieces...

Hello, I'm doing a review because of all the time I spent researching before my purchase . I looked on every website possible for chessboards and pieces, then I found Chessbazaar and all the reviews were excellent. After reading about Chessbazaar and other reviews about great service and great products I knew that there wouldn't be any problem buying from a company so far away. Then I found the Arabian Knight Series set, absolutely the most beautiful set I have ever seen! The knight is stunning, the rooks are great too different with the fluted rim, the Kings finial is an extra touch of class the set has. I only can compare my time researching with Richards review he and I did almost the same thing. And I liked the Bud Rose set so much I also purchased an Ebony set I'm waiting for it to be delivered in a few days. Chessbazaar ships super fast with tracking .

This is a good quality chess compared to many other sets by chessbazaar. I am happy with Chessbazaar customer service quality and price .

let me get all the complaints out of the way first: \n\n(1) One of the dark knights has eyes that are not exactly perfectly level. You can only tell this if you are looking at the piece at eye-level, if you have it turned to face you exactly, and if you are specifically looking for it. Otherwise it would never be noticed at all. I only mention this because it's there - but the piece is Beautiful! The other three knights in the set are very symmetric in this viewing position. \n\n(2) One of the light knights' has a very very small gap between the base and the hand-carved top. This gap is also un-noticable unless you are specifically looking for it - And, it's only over about 10 degrees of the circle. I plan to micro-fill it with a tiny amount of wood filler if I do anything at all. \n\n(3) The set is lighter than my previous set - and some of the weights are inconsistent. This is most noticeable in the white pawns - and ChessBazaar is going to replace 5 of my lightest white pawns to make me 100% satisfied! Actually, last night, at a chess meet, several commented about how beautiful the set was - and had a nice feel regarding the weight of the set. \n\nNow that all of the issues are out of the way ... let me focus on all of the positives! \n\nThis set is simply gorgeous ! Period ! The knights are stunning! The design is both classic staunton and at the same time unique. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 3D cross atop the King in this set! Most sets simply have a ornate cut that is more a flat 2D ... For whatever reason, I like turning the king to see through the inside of that delicate cross top. This is the fist set where the Castles flare at the top - they're beautiful! \n\nAnd what can I say about the knight? Not enough!!! ALL of these hand carved knights match the photos perfectly! They're stunning! ( Makes you hate loosing a knight during a game - LOL) \n\nThis set is easy to play without any form of hesitation of confusion regarding the pieces due to staying with the standard Staunton design - but it's unique as well. \n\nPrice-wise, this set exceeds sets from other companies that would sell at more than twice the cost of this set. One of another companies where I did my comparisons had sets that were similar, (but not as beautiful regarding the knights,) for just under $1000.00. \n\nHats off to ChessBazaar for also sending a promotional second chess set - which is beautiful in it's own right! That was a Special they had at the time ... and my purchase qualified. \n\nShipping was also a delight - the item, once picked up by FedEx, made it to my doorstep in 37 hours! FedEx picked the item up Monday at 8:03 pm, and it was delivered Wen Morning at 9:41 am! I have developed FULL CONFIDENCE in ChessBazaar, and will certainly keep them at the top of my list should I decide to buy any major chess products in the future !! \n\nI plan to cover more details about this set on my personal Blog (I love blogging - and this is a blog-worthy product to fully review). Will probably be a bit before it's posted as life is busy. Check RichImages.net in about a week from this date if you're interested is seeing more images of this set.

This is a truly beautiful piece of art. Although it looks beautiful in the pictures posted online, it exceeds expectations once it arrives and can be examined in person. I am completely satisfied with this purchase. Furthermore, I was impressed with the prompt shipping and arrival of the chess set. From India to a rural area in Arizona on the Mexican border only took three days.
