There are only a few chess sets I like, and this is one of them. I am not a Staunton fan. I paid about $130.00 and enjoyed fast, free shipping. There were two issues; a boxwood dancing queen and a boxwood king with two left feet. That means they both wobbled because they didn't have flat bottoms. I emailed ChessBazaar Sales and asked what the proper remedy would be. They responded that they would send me new pieces. I countered that they could send me an extra set of queens instead, and I would find a remedy for the wobbly queen and king myself. I lightly sanded the bottoms until they no longer wobbled. Based on other reviews, I think you can expect that a piece or two will not sit flat and that customer service will take care of you on the backend. I'm not sure how I feel about that because the customer service was outstanding. Still, I have to wait for 8 to 10 weeks for the new queens to arrive. Had I bought something new, they would have come quicker. \n\nThese chess pieces display and play perfectly on a 2.25-inch square. Unlike other chess sets, I love the creativity and uniqueness of every single character. They are elegant and can inspire your best game of chess. \n\nI don't mind that they are unweighted and don't have felt bottoms. I thought I would, but it's okay. The boxwood pieces are a feathers weight compared to the ebony pieces. I've played a few games outside in the wind, and they don't blow over. If I ordered these again, I think I would ask for weighted pieces with felt bottoms. Still, they are beautiful and offer great value. You could buy a similar reproduction at The House of Staunton for $699.00. I'm happy I chose these instead. \n\nI bought two Plano 3700 series boxes to store the pieces. Each box was about $8.00.

How are items packaged?

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
