The dark pieces are crafted from luxurious ebony wood, while the light pieces are made from natural boxwood, offering a superb hand-feel and smooth movement. The set includes extra queens for pawn promotion and is expertly weighted for optimal play. The knights are inspired by the 1849 Staunton pattern, and each piece is finely carved with distinctive features. Excellent reproduction

To my eye, this is an excellent reproduction of Frank Camaratta's ""Collectors"" chess set (at a much more affordable price). Knights are beautifully carved, and look well on the board.

Excellent Value!

This chess set arrived very securely wrapped and in flawless condition. The ebony is quite black with a pristine finish. Quality control is very good as there were no chips, cracks, loose weights etc. Its nice to receive a set that looks as good as the one displayed on the website. The knights are especially well made and remarkably symmetrical. One could easily pay three times as much for a set of similar quality from other vendors. I would highly recommend this set for home analysis or taking to the chess club as it fits perfectly on my tournament size board with 2.25"" squares. Thank you chess bazaar!

Staunton chess set

Not reasonable price, Royalchessmall is selling better than this for around $120 on ebay. I believe Royal Chess Mall will overtake Chessbazaar in near future.

Oustanding Chess Set

I was looking at this for some weeks and finally bought it. It is so beautiful. Such an elegant design I thought but even more impressive in reality. Carving on the knights is so very beautiful. Even the Bishops have a little bit of extra detail in the carving of the slot of the mitre there is a little bevel. The pieces are well weighted and felted. A real pleasure to move with them. \nI ordered 21:00 on Wednesday and the parcel was handed to me at 15:00 Saturday. Each piece foam wrapped. Spare Queens!

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
