Features: The New Imperial chess pieces offers a 3.75" King with a diameter of 1.62" and all chess pieces are Weighted by adding a stud of iron within the base. Each of the chess pieces have green felt on their bases. The dark chess pieces are made of Ebony wood and the lighter chess pieces are made of Boxwood.

The chess pieces are beautifully crafted in Ebony wood & boxwood. Ebony wood will give you luxurious touch & premium feel in your hand. We use high quality Buff polish on each of our chess pieces. There are several layers of polish coating each of the chess pieces.

Attractive Pieces

I have now been using these pieces for some time (prior review was upon initial receipt). Still no defects have been noted. All pieces are uniform and have flat bottoms. A nice balance and feel. The only further recommendation I can make is that they are best used for study and serious or slower play. I would not recommend these pieces for blitz play, as they are more easily toppled when moving rapidly or carelessly, particularly the knights that are more narrow and tall. However, everything is quite stable enough and flat bottomed for non-blitz play.

Unique Set

This is a very nice set which is quite different from the Imperial Collector series. The knights are stately, tall and slender and the pieces appear to be floating over the chessboard, due to being carved over recessed pedestals. The pieces are carved with multiple rings or collars. Even the pawns have 3 collars below the ball at the top, plus 5 rings at the base. The pieces were uniformly and expertly carved, and have a nice weight and feel to them. The rooks are in an Indian or Columbian style with wide bases and a narrower middle, and the turrets flared at the top. I really like this set, especially the unique knights and pawns, as a variation from other styles, while remaining within the general Staunton pattern as a whole.

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
