The King proudly stands at 3.75 inches(tournament standard size) and its base is robust 1.77 inches. This is a professional looking Staunton design featuring the magnificently robust knight.

Both side chess pieces are crafted with a beautiful high-quality plastic for a solid, sturdy feel. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical. Pieces are crafted with a high level of precision & are finished by a special coating to reduce the fingerprints & smudges from surface & and at the same time makes them more durable. All the pieces are expertly weighted which gives them extra stability on the chess board and feels good to hold and play with them. Thick green felt has been fixed on the base of the pieces which protects the board, controls noise while playing and looks classy on the rim of the base of pieces.

Fantastic Plastic Chess Pieces

I've bought many wooden sets from chessbazaar over the years and they've all been fantastic. I wanted to see how their plastic sets would be and so I ordered the Professional Staunton Chess Pieces and Natural And black.\n\nThe pieces are very well made. They're well-weighted for the price and are very stable. I would have liked if the bottom was flat instead of flared but these pieces are the best I've seen in plastic.\n\nPros:\n1. They are true to the original Staunton design and the proportions are excellent.\n2. The heights of all the pieces and their relative sizes are just perfect. No piece is too large or too small and they all make the set look very nice.\n3. Since they're double weighted, they are decent for rapid (but probably not for blitz as the flared base tends to make pieces wobble during fast movements.\n4. The total set weighs 1194 grams (around 42 ounces)\n5. Packaging was excellent and all the pieces arrived safely.\n6. The King is perfectly sized and weighted. The height to base ratio is just perfect.\n7. Queen is amazing (we get 2 queens for pawn promotion)\n8. Bishops are decent. Although I would have liked to see the bishop's top a little bigger and the miter cut a little more well shaped. But it looks very good in the set.\n9. Knights are the most beautiful pieces in this set. This level of detail without impacting playability or durability is just awesome!\n10. The rooks look like literal castle towers. They have thick heavy duty crenellation that suggest a strong piece and is unlikely to ever break off!\n11. Pawns are perfect height and weight with wide base making them very stable (pawns are typically the least stable in any set but these pawns are very stable)\n\nWeights\nBlack pawns: 174 grams\nBlack pieces: 422 grams\nWhite Pawns: 174 grams\nWhite Pieces: 424 grams\n\nBlack Pieces weight: 596 grams\nWhite Pieces weight: 598 grams\n\nTotal set weight: 1194 grams (Almost 1200 grams) or 42 ounces\nAdvertized: 1180 grams\n\nCons:\n1. Some of the mold lines are visible but those are very minute and definitely not visible unless you're nitpicking!\n2. The queen's coronet has some sharp edges which might break off if dropped directly. But that's the part of design that I like very much. Gives the queen a very regal look because of the flared and sharp peaks. In fact, the queen is probably the best looking pieces in this entire set (after the knights of course!)\n3. I would have liked to see this set be triple weighted. The bottom shows some space that could have been used for putting extra weight.\n4. There are seme mold release artifacts on the black pieces that don't really show up unless you see them against the light at a specific angle. \n5. The baize bottoms could have been better quality. But considering the price, this is par for the course. \n\nOverall, at Rs 2640, I'm very satisfied with the set. It is priced appropriately (though it could have been better or if it had triple weights at this price). \n\nI'm thoroughly enjoying playing on this set as my daily casual play pieces because I don't want to ruin my expensive wooden sets (that I bought from chessbazaar).\n\nI hope they bring more varieties of plastic pieces because that's more affordable and durable for daily play.

The product is good but the finishing would be better at this price and this have many rough surface and i got 2 kings not 2 queens

How are items packaged?

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
