Detailed Description

Wooden Chess Board This board is made of Sheesham Wood ( Dalbergia sissoo ) on darker side and Maple on the lighter side. The underside of the board is felted with green velvet. The size of the board is 19 x 19 Inches (48 x 48 cm) with square size of 2" x 2" Inches (50 x 50 mm). The board is 22 mm thick. You will get a chess board only.

Weight: 4000 gms (141 oz). Please note that this is a handmade item so the final weight of the board can vary by plus or minus (±) 10%.

Just wonderful!

This unique chess board just arrived after 20 days from ordering it (a bit long) and I can stop my self from looking at it in amazement. It is absolutely beautiful! The craftsmanship is superb and the general look of it is astonishing. It has everything a chess player and a collector would expect from a handcrafted unique piece like this one. And the sheesham wood which gives it its uniqueness is probably the most beautiful type of wood there is.\nStrongly recommend this kind of chess board to all those who really want to enjoy the game and in the same time enjoy the touch and feeling of their chess set.\nThe only 3 negative points have to do firstly with the fact that I still had to pay customs in my country (although Chessbazaar guarantees that there is nothing else to pay besides the ordering price) secondly with the fact that the package arrived broken on one side (although the board was not affected, being very well packaged) and finally by the fact that although Romania is an EU country, the board was sent trough mail post and not through FedEx.

Everything went smoothly.

Received the product in four days which was excellent. The chess pieces excellent. A minor problem regarding the board which Chessbazaar resolved satisfactorily. I recommend to anyone wishing to purchase good quality chess pieces and boards to deal with Chessbazaar.

Board not quite up to expectation.

Prompt delivery and excellent packaging. Chess pieces excellent. Chess board beautifully made but in two places on the top edging of the board there are dull spots in the gloss. The board is beautifully glossed all round except of the two places the finish appears dull or faulty when observed from a small distance back. A slight disappointment in quality as far as this flaw is concerned. Perhaps the quality control was not as good as it should be.

Wow, I rarely so excited over a purchase to put up a glowing review, but my chess board just arrived and it is beyond beautiful. The packing was done with extreme care and thoroughness - that it was difficult getting through the layers of protection. But once the board was revealed, it has all the aesthetic pleasure and peace that one would hope for to play my equally beautiful chessmen upon. The craftsmanship is perfect, solid, elegant for play. I'm reigniting my childhood love of chess, and very happy with my setup. A pleasure to look at and play, just wow!

How are items packaged?

All items are carefully packaged in our warehouses - so as to avoid any form of damage. We take great pride in our packaging which ensures the package is water proof with plastic wrap and fragile items are safely secured with bubble wrap.

Seller Error: If we made a mistake, such as sending the wrong or incomplete item, please let us know right away and we will gladly send the correct item in exchange whenever possible at no additional cost to you.(Wrong or incomplete items claim must be made within 48 hours of delivery of the item.)
Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturer's defect, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order to arrange for a replacement.
Shipping Damage: If your purchase arrived damaged, please contact us as soon as possible to initiate a parcel damage claim. To expedite your claim, please email sales@chessbazaar.com with photographs of the package and damaged contents.
Plastic Box Damage: We offer plastic box complementary with some of the chess pieces so we won't be able to send you the replacement for the plastic box if it breaks in transit.
Refused or Undeliverable Packages: Packages returned because of purchaser error or refused delivery are subject to a restocking fee of up to 60% of the purchase price to recover the cost of processing, shipping, and then re-stocking and re-processing the order.
Pre-orders and backorders can be cancelled any time up until the item is in stock and your order has been processed.
