Great portable pieces set

First time ordering and I was very happy with the set. Small but detailed and very suitable for any kind of small board. Would love to order again.

What a Fantastic Set!

I cannot claim to know every chess set available on the web, but based on the amount of searching I had done for myself. this Collector Series Handcarved Staunton set is the best carved, best priced, small chess set I have come across. I have a Chessnut Air and was looking for a well-made, small set that I could modify and add Chessnut sensors to. These worked out GREAT. Thank you ChessBazaar for such a wonderful set.

Nicely detailed pieces

I bought these for a 12"" board. The pieces feel smooth and well weighted. The knight is amazingly detailed for a set this size. My only issue is some of the pieces don't stand up straight. But, overall an excellent set for the price.

Great value

Nice chess set at a great value.

High Quality, Suitable for self analysis

I got impressed with this high quality wooden chess pieces. It is suitable for 40 mm square chess boards and can be used for analysis and self study purposes. Packaging and shipping services were outstanding and you can easiliy get information about your order's shipping. Thanks a lot!!!

Nice little chessmen, fully consistent with the Staunton pattern

I looked for a classic Staunton quality set, to complete a nice analysis compact board (4cm / 1.6"" squares). That's the one!\nThe pieces are nice, well-proportioned, pleasantly weighted, of course felted, and the Knight features a great care for many details one usually only finds with larger, more expensive pieces. Definitely a great job! \nThe Pawn is slightly oversized, and would as well fit for playing on 4,5cm / 1.8"" squares. This choice fits my taste (Pawns are the soul of chess!)

Simple, functional

A cool little set. Hand carved - classic design. What’s not to like? A simple, functional, well made set. Small and I use them for studying historical games on a smallish board. Good value.

Adorable little set

Well-crafted in small size. This set is for 40mm squares and it fits very well.

Well carved for the price.

These are very good chess pieces for the size and price. They are well carved with good detail, although some pieces have some small irregularities. The mate finish of the ebonized pieces can show some imperfections. It is not bad, but is not perfect either, showing some small protuberance. This set fits well on a board with 40mm squares and are probably the best chess pieces you can find on this size.

Well carved for the price.

Well carved and detailed chess pieces.

This is a very good chess piece for the size. It is well carved with good detail. The mate finish is not perfect. It has some irregularities. It fits well on a board with 40mm squares.

Pleased with purchase

I use these pieces on my secondary board, beside my main one. Aesthetically pleasing without taking up a lot of space.

Amazingly detailed knights

Absolutely pleased with the sharp and clean look of thus Staunton styled pieces. I found my king's crown broken and CB's post-sale services indeed lived up to expectations - my replacement king is on its way to Singapore! \n\nSo happy with the quality and service that I decided to order another set from CB. \n\nDon't waste time. Pictures don't do justice to this wonderfully crafted chessmen.

wonderful little set

I love this set. Although it's small, it's very detailed, especially the Knights. It's wonderful for analysis and chess study, where you have to be able to reach both sides of the board easily.\nGreat to have the extra Queens, and Chess Bazaar's service was great as usual. Speedy and hassle-free delivery.

Small set, high quality

Impressed with the set quality. Unbeatable value for money. Superb service: the parcel was at home in 3 days, including a weekend. Outstanding! I call again soon. JM

Well carved smaller set

After considerable searching for a set suitable for a smaller \nAnalysis board (1.5"" squares) I was pleased to find this one. In contrast to many other offerings it featured nicely detailed knights and a traditional presentation. The extra queens were also a nice touch.\n\nDelivery was prompt and overall I was very satisfied for the money.

Nice Small Set

This is a nice small chess set for those who have a small analysis chessboard... It is very hard to get small pieces of any quality... But these chess pieces are very good... Even the small Knights are carved well... (m.)
