I ordered these pieces as a set with board and storage box. Now this set is unavailable for sale so I am writing my review for the pieces. As of now this set is the best chess set I have ever had. The board which was included in the sale is 60 mm square and the pieces match this board perfectly. The pieces are so heavy that when you grab them in hand it's a really pleasant tactile feeling. The quality of carving is top notch. The knights deserve special attention. They are one of the most beautiful and expressive knights I have ever seen among the products offered not only by chessbazaar but also by other sellers. Due to pandemic the delivery took more than 1 month to Korea but I don't complain. It was worth the wait. I am going to use this set as an exhibit item to decorate my room. Thank you, chessbazaar.

I ordered this set in boxwood and Ebony, glossy finish. Because I ordered the glossy finish, they had to spray it so they took an extra 4 to 5 days prior to delivery, as indicated. It arrived nine days after my order. Each piece was individually wrapped in foam and taped. The box itself was lined with foam. Each piece arrived in perfect condition. I happened to catch the 30% discount, so the price was about 60% of what it would have cost for a similar set from competing sites. I was concerned about ordering from India, but all of my concerns proved without basis. This is, without a doubt, the most attractive chess that I have ever seen. The pieces are gorgeous and heavy. A magnificent set of chess pieces. This is my third set from Chess Bazaar and this Shera Series is of the highest quality. It is quite beautiful; exquisite. It is now my favourite set amongst other excellent sets being the 2016 Bridle Knight Series (in Ebony) and the GM Blitz Series (in ebony). This Shera set is lacquered and the pieces have a jewel-like quality on my board; the light pieces are wonderful and the dark pieces in rosewood just delightful. I am proud to display this set in my home as a centrepiece of tasteful game design. It is a five star set for sure but ... we did have some trouble with the first batch of pieces - something went awry with the lacquer - even though the carving was beautiful - the lacquer was flawed. Be assured - Chess Bazaar stood by their promise and replaced the pieces without question. It took some time which is not an issue for me and ro be expected due to COVID disrupting global trading conditions in so many ways. My pieces were replaced without issue but to provide a balanced rating I reduced the value rating to four because of the inconvenience. Thank you again to the Chess Bazaar team for another great set.

This set is a masterpiece from the design point of view. \nI was considering between bud rosewood/boxwood version and bud rosewood/ebony one and very glad that I went with boxwood! In this particular design boxwood looks fantastic! It's very elegant and striking and just fits the boxwood material. Bud rosewood looks amazing as usually. \nThe set looks much better in person than pictures show. Perfect design flow.\nThe delivery was fast and wrapping is good, so pieces came undamaged. I found couple imperfections in some pieces though. I requested replacements and chess bazaar sent them after couple emails with descriptions of imperfections. Now I have a perfect set that is absolutely gorgeous! \nHighly suggest this set to anything me who is looking for beautiful, elegant and striking chess set for your showroom. \nI would also suggest 2.5"" square board for it.\nRegards\n

The Shera bud-rosewood chess pieces are beautiful, and skilfully done, with the utmost precision and artisan carving. There are only couple things that make this chess less than perfect. The pieces are unevenly weighted , some weight far more than others! Also, the green felt pads are lacking the quality and precision that this set deserves. If you seek beauty-it's there ; perfection-almost there...Overall beautiful chess set that lacks the perfection that it rightfully deserves!

The Shera series is a magnificient and elegant series that looks even better in reality than on the pictures (which are great). Yes it's a bit expensive, but you won't find any better prices. \nIt took a week to get the pieces, which is fairly quick and I was so glad that there were no additional delivery fees! Bazaar team take a special care to coat every piece in styrofoam. \nThe costumer services are great! I had a little problem during purchase because it was ""black friday"" and I forgot to put the promotion code... I instantly wrote to Chessbazaar and the next day they had fix everything!\n\nSo a big congratz for this work and thank you again guys!

it has an extra edge that will attract you all the time and for me its still hard to keep an eye away from it! designed with attitude!\nJust the price seem to be a bit expensive. But you won't regret it later.

This chess set is amazingly beautiful. They are even better than the photos portray; superb workmanship for a fantastic price. All pieces are very well made, the Knights especially! I also purchased from this site a 60mm/23"" bud rosewood board which matches the chess set perfectly. The customer service is also fantastic, I have asked Chess Bazaar numerous questions and all have been answered very quickly and thoroughly.\n\nDelivery was immensely fast (within a couple of days to Britain!) and I still cannot believe how well packaged everything was. Every piece was delicately wrapped and sealed within a container with even more padding and protection. \n\nDefinitely recommend this site and especially this set!

The pictures on the site really do not do the chessmen justice. Beautiful pieces, delivered quickly and packaged a lot better than I thought.

I purchased this set last Christmas and was amazed at its value and beauty. It's rare to see such artful design go into a set at this price point. I would suggest a board with squares of about 2.25 inches or slightly larger, as the pieces will seem crowded on smaller boards. You wouldn't want to use this set for speed chess; the weighting is excellent but you would risk damaging the pieces. The set arrived at my doorstep in the United States four days after I ordered it, even during the very busy holiday season.

I've just received my D0150 Bud Rosewood chess set. It's beautifully made, very impressive to look at, and I'm delighted!\nAll the pieces are elegant and gracefully designed - see the intricate and subtle carving of the 'aggressive' knights and the lovely, sweeping contours of all the pieces; for me, the king and rooks are special!\nAfter several online chat discussions with the very helpful and courteous Vik and Ram, and assurances of receiving perfectly colour-matched pieces, with no imperfections, I placed my order. I received the D0150 chess set, and the stylish, very well-suited storage box, just five days later. After that very satisfying purchase, I'm now in the process of ordering a 60mm board from them, that square size being, in my opinion, the best dimension for playing with these substantial pieces, and for showing them to best advantage. .
